YEC hosts two hiring fairs annually. The Summer Hiring Fair is held in April and the Seasonal Hiring Fair is held in October. Employers attend the fairs to recruit full-time, part-time and seasonal employees. There are hundreds of positions available in a wide variety of industries. Project Protégé - Mentorship Program

Consider applying for The City of Calgary Youth Employment Centre's Mentorship Program! As a participant, you will have the opportunity to interact with and utilize the expertise of a City of Calgary Mentor and will gain hands-on experience and information for your potential occupation or field of interest.
We are currently recruiting participants for the 2010/11 Mentorship Program. If you are under the age of 25 and are in your 3rd or 4th year of post secondary studies in Social Work, Human Services, or Kinesiology, this may be a good fit for you! Participants will be required to attend a mandatory training session on Oct 23, 9:00-3:30pm. Additionally, participants will be asked to attend a Kick-Off event, monthly Mentor and YEC Employment Advisor meetings, Employment Preparation Workshops and a Wind-Up event

The Youth Employment Centre offers scholarships every year. To be eligible, you must be working on or have completed career planning or job search activities with an Employment Counsellor at the Youth Employment Centre. Be prepared, start your career plan now, so you will be ready to apply when the upcoming scholarships are offered.
Project Protégé is a mentorship program for post secondary students in the Bachelor of Arts in Human Services program at Rocky Mountain College and Bachelor of Social Work Students from the University of Calgary. Students involved in the project are connected with a mentor working in the Community Neighbourhood Services division of the City of Calgary. The project occurs during the post secondary school year and students have to apply to the program. The City of Calgary Youth Employment Centre periodically offers a program for Aboriginal youth called "Born to Be" Aboriginal Youth Career and Living Skills Program will cover areas such as work experience, pre-employment training, recreational activities, and cultural activities. The program takes place over a span of 20 weeks and is available to Aboriginal Youth between 15 and 24 years of age. For more information, check out the Aboriginal Info+Net or phone 403-268-2490.
Discovering Your Opportunities
Discovering Your Opportunities is a paid 5 week career and life planning program for young mothers aged 15-19. The program takes place in July and August and along with life skills modules, participants learn job search skills and complete a work experience based on their interests. High school credits can be obtained during this program. Discovering Your Opportunities is supported through a partnership between the Youth Employment Centre, Calgary Board of Education Louise Dean Centre, Catholic Family Services and local employers.
